How Juicing Can Help Fight Inflammation – Juicing Part 3 Video

This is the 3rd video in this mini video serious which is about how juicing can help to keep inflammation at bay and even cure it (as seen in Sick, Fat & Nearly Dead). Inflammation is an immune response to what your body perceives as an attack on the system. It comes in two forms; acute and chronic. Acute inflammation is what happens when you, say, injure your ankle. Your body produces a number of symptoms including heat, swelling and pain. If this didn’t happen, you’d walk on it and cause more damage.

Similarly, with a cold or flu,  your body reacts by your immune system responding to a variety of chemicals that work to raise your temperature, make you feel ill and make you want to lie down. This is a protection mechanism for you to heal as you body does all it can to repair itself.

Chronic inflammation is a whole new ball game. It is a condition that underlies pretty much every single chronic disease – including cancers, depression, cardiovascular disease, heart attacks, strokes, asthma, eczema, and neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

Inflammation happens with the consistent intake of foods that our bodies were not designed to consume. If you look at the ingredients on about 80% of the products on supermarket shelves, many of the ingredients you won’t be able to pronounce and that’s a good indication we shouldn’t be consuming it. Some of the top culprits are trans fats (hydrogenated oils used to deep fry, in doughnuts and also found in margarines – it’s horrific, take a wide birth!), sugar (sorry), refined carbs (white anything), cheeseburgers (white bread and poor animal fat and fake cheese anyone?), too much alcohol, too many omega-6 fatty acids, milk, MSG and gluten. Can you see a trend here? Would our ancestors have eaten any of these things?
