Have you ever noticed how pleasurable it feels to walk barefoot on the ground or on the beach? There’s more to it than just the texture of the ground beneath your feet. A few months ago, I did a post on Earthing. I think it’s so important that I decided to do another one. And I think you may think I’ve lost it. Here goes: We as a human need energy from the sun to be healthy. We need oxygen to survive. We need to fuel ourselves with nutrition and keep active and strength train to make ourselves strong give our body everything it needs to thrive. We also need the right psychology in place.
What’s been missing for some time is the healing energy that we receive from the Earth. Before you roll your eyes and switch to the next site, hear me out. Going back to ancestral times, we’d be connected to the ground when we walked about barefoot or on leather soles. Our ancestors would be connected to the ground when they slept, somehow. Today, we’re disconnected from the ground as we wear plastic and rubber soles on our feet all the time and sleep nowhere near the ground.
The ground is a sea of negatively charged electrons. This is a fact. We human beings are nothing but electrical energy, electrical creatures – this is also fact. (Have you ever felt your own energy field? It’s very cool.) Our entire nervous system is built with electrical signals and pulses of energy. The brain is made up of about a one hundred billion neurons – or nerve cells. The heart keeps pumping (miraculously) by a small electrical current generated by the group of muscle cells in the walls of the heart.
Everything on earth is energy in some form or another, even inanimate objects like tables and chairs. For the sake of this, we’ll focus on living things, like us. We are walking pulses of electricity – have you ever had a static electric shock in a hotel when reaching for a door handle a hotel?
Simply put, we need to be connected to the ground and be earthed, so we can absorb the healing energy from the earth. The originator of this treatment, and one of the writers of the book, Earthing, had a lot of opposition on this theory as you might imagine. So he started to conduct his own experiments and after a few years, started to gain the interest of scientists and doctors. He started connecting people to the earth whilst sleeping in the form of electrically conducted sheets that were connected to the ground, or via the Earthing terminal in the plug socket. The results have been and continue to be, phenomenal.
All sorts of illnesses and diseases were improved or even cured by sleeping grounded – including insomnia, sleep apnoea, jet lag, type 2 diabetes, wounds that weren’t previously healing, asthma, eczema, hormones normalised, acute inflammation and last, but not least, chronic inflammation. Patients’ blood pressure normalised, inflammatory markers improved, cholesterol levels were improved. The greatest take away I’ve had from it, is how chronic inflammation can be reversed through Earthing. This is a quote from the book:
“The moment your foot touches the Earth, or you connect to the Earth through a wire, your physiology changes. An immediate normalisation begins. And an anti-inflammatory switch is turned on.” People stay inflamed because they never connect with the Earth, the source of free electrons, which can neutralize the free radicals in the body that cause disease and cellular destruction.”
The simplest way to Earth yourself is to walk around barefoot. There’s a pleasurable feeling you get when you walk barefoot on the ground isn’t there? This is the energy from the earth (as well as the pleasurable feeling to the touch) travelling through your entire body. Another great way to Earth yourself is to swim in the sea / ocean as water is one of the best conductors of electricity and your whole body is being earthed whilst in the water. Finally, sleeping grounded (or Earthed) with the use of grounding sheets has been proven time and time again, to be very effective for reversing inflammation. I’d highly recommend a read of Earthing and to invest in grounding sheets and walking barefoot whenever you can!
