My Recommendations To A Friend Who’s Been Diagnosed With Cancer

It’s not Christmas quite yet, and I’ll apologise in advance for the slight down tone to this. What do you do, when a friend in their early fifties tells you he’s been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (just before Christmas) and inside you say to yourself: ‘I’m really not surprised at all’. Like so many other innocent folk, he’s not familiar with what is actually healthy food and eats what society and culture says is healthy. It’s saddening because unless we break free from the likes of Big Food advertising and media and also Big Pharma, we’re all on the road to experiencing chronic inflammation (which sabotages hormones by the way including testosterone) and that leads to pretty much every chronic disease you can think of. My next book, called The Vitality Secret, is out in January and I’m going to be explaining all of this in detail and the solution of course. Some of us are getting very few micronutrients, every single day. Many are getting none. These micronutrients fuel our cells and immune system. And you can’t make up for a deficit, ever.

Micronutrients are our vitamins and minerals. They are most nutrient-dense in raw, plant-based foods. This is why 70-80% of our daily diet needs to come from plant-based foods – namely, vegetables and fruit, and nuts, seeds, herbs and grasses. You’ll have seen that I’ve written a number of posts on The Truth About Cancer series that was screened in October. Here are my notes of what I suggested my friend do immediately, while he explores other forms of treatment other than the highly invasive and toxic chemotherapy and radiotherapy that destroy your immune system and other organs and never tackles the root of the problem. This is why most cancers return. It’s not all doom and gloom! There is hope! And tons it it. Here is what I suggested. Quick disclaimer: I can’t override any Doctor’s or oncologist’s advice. Use this with caution (I’ve got to say that). I’m presenting to you some of what I have discovered over the last 3-4 years of studying nutrition and much of this comes from the documentary series, The Truth About Cancer.

  • Switching to a ketogenic diet. This means avoiding high GI carbs and any kind of sugar and eating healthy fats. Your body switches to using fat for fuel instead of glucose, from carbohydrates. Glucose is cancer’s primary fuel. This means sugar is Cancer’s no.1 fuel. Healthy cells can live on glucose and fat, cancer cells only live on glucose. This means you starve the cancer cells. No one tells you this. Your body makes a transition from burning carbs for energy to fat. In the first 2-3 days, you’ll feel dizzy, weak and confused. After that, you’ll feel like a superhuman as and be able to think far more effectively. This is how in Sick, Fat And Nearly Dead, Joe Cross was able to reverse 5 serious chronic illnesses by doing a 60 day vegetable juice cleanse. He also came off 8 medications that he was on.  His doctor kept on switching his meds and in the end he decided to take control of his own health. I bet he’s glad he did or he’d probably be dead now. 
  • Go low carb (only get your carbs from vegetables, not starchy things like potatoes)
  • Increase healthy fat intake instead for satiety and to fuel hormones and brain cells and every other cell. For example – avocados, olive oil, fatty fish, eggs, nuts, seeds etc. None of that affects insulin, and it’s insulin that feeds cancer cells. Insulin is secreted when you consume sugar and any king of high GI carb. This is why you want to keep insulin flat, or at least, almost flat by not having any high GI carbs or definitely no sugar. What do oncologists often have in their offices to make cancer patients happy during Chemo? Candy and sweets apparently. Hello brains.
  • Only eat real food, never eat packaged food or processed food. This means only fresh meat, fish, and vegetables and fruit (small amounts of fruit as they still have lots of sugar) and anything plant-based. 
  • Eat lots  of turmeric – the king of spices and is anti-inflammatory. To get this type of Cancer, he’ll have had chronic inflammation. An anti-inflammatory diet is essential and that means zero grains or any kind of toxins.  Grains are very high glycemic meaning they trigger a sharp blood sugar response and thus insulin secretion. Cancer cells have 15 times the number of insulin receptors to normal cells so this is why they gobble up all the sugar. It’s how people are diagnosed with cancer – a radioactive glucose is given to the patient and where it all becomes concentrated, is where the cancer cells are thriving. They’re feeding on it like vultures. Grains also cause inflammation themselves, particularly wheat. This means no bread, no pasta, no cereals. This may sound tough given it’s a staple food, but knowing that they fuel cancer should be enough to remove them from his life. I live like this all the time anyway – it’s totally possible! Real food. Nothing man made. Back to basics, as nature intended. 
  • Vegetable juice every day, pure vegetables, with no fruit – greens mainly, and also beets and carrots, ginger, lemon to strengthen your immune system. Chemo and Radio destroy your immune system (and other organs). This strengthens it. The Gerson Institute uses Micronutrient Therapy and Colon cleansing with coffee enemas to cure cancer – 70% of the immune system is in the gut. Hence the colon cleansing.  
  • Start intermittent fasting to starve the cancer cells – 16 hours a day, don’t have anything except water. Best way is after your evening meal, say you finish at 8pm, not to eat anything (just have water) until noon the next day. Cancer cells need feeding and when you starve them, this is a good thing. Also, healthy cells can feed on fat, whereas cancer cells cannot. So eat fat, not carbs. Just carbs from vegetables (plenty of).
  • Start to apply Frankincense and Myrrh to the affected areas, several times a day. They are nature’s true medicines and incredibly effective at fighting inflammation and for curing lots of different types of cancer.
  • There are other forms of treatment too and he’s looking into these. Some are listed below:
    • Vibrational medicine (Hope For Cancer)
    • Sound Medicine – kills 70:1 cancer cells and non-toxic
    • Photo Therapy – Red and blue lights and infrared
    • Hyper Oxygen tanks
      • Pressured oxygen tanks saturates cancer with oxygen (cancer can’t breed with oxygen)
      • Pressure forces oxygen into cells
      • 1 hour duration of treatment and patients love it
    • Infra Red Sauna – near and far
      • Cancer cells are heat sensitive, normal cells are heat-resistant

Obviously I cannot take over the role of a qualified physician or oncologist. I’m just presenting to you, what I have read, and understood over the years to be categorically true. Doesn’t this all just make sense? To eat as nature intended? Back to basics? Ditch all the man-made, processed crap that takes up 90% of supermarkets? That’s all it is, and eating tons of micronutrients. Exercise is crucial too of course to prevent and fight inflammation.
