Post Glastonbury Juice Cleanse

I’ll admit it, I went to Glastonbury Festival over the weekend and consumed a considerable amount of cider! Yes, I’m not perfect. So, I thought it would be worth my while to do a juice cleanse. I often do this once a week anyway, so this time the plan is to do 3 days.  In this video I explain how easy it is to get juicing and why it’s so effective in supplying your body with a mega dosage of micronutrients – minerals and vitamins, which we simply don’t get enough of in the typical American or Western diet.

I’m a big fan of juicing ever since watching Sick, Fat And Nearly Dead and the sequel, Sick, Fat & Nearly Dead 2. In short, the presenter, Joe Cross,  was very overweight, had chronic inflammation, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 Diabetes and an autoimmune disease which meant he had hives all over his body. He was on 8 different medications prescribed by his doctor. Every single prescription medication has side effects – bar none. He decided to take his health into his own hands and cured every single one of his health conditions by going on a juice cleanse for 60 days. He came off every single medication and is now healthy sharing with the world his success. He would have probably died had he continued as his doctor recommended.

Joe Cross consumed nothing but vegetable and fruit juices, supplemented with nuts and seeds for essential fats. During his cleanse, his body transitioned into nutritional ketosis which means he switched from being a carbohydrate burner for energy (both mentally and physically) to burning stored fat. His brain switched from using glucose found in carbs, to ketones in stored fat.

Juicing is like giving your body a service, much like we give our cars a service. Our liver gets put on overdrive by the typical Standard American Diet and Western way of living. The consistent intake of toxins and alien food matter is what leads to chronic inflammation over time – and this underlies most chronic illnesses and diseases. Unfortunately, 80% of what we find in our supermarkets really isn’t suitable for human consumption. And this also disrupts our endocrine system – our hormones. Namely, oestrogen goes up and testosterone goes down.

So…juice cleansing is possibly the most effective way to get healthy and stay healthy.  Check out this video and let me know your thoughts and questions…
