The Truth About Chronic Disease – Greg Glassman Reveals All

If you are of the opinion that chronic diseases including type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease (heart attacks and strokes) and even cancers, strike unlucky people, this video is a must watch. Greg Glassman, CEO of CrossFit reveals how chronic disease is created and how 70% of deaths are premature and down to chronic disease. In fact, even if you know that chronic disease is self-created, this will add more value to understanding how to avoid disease and remain in peak health & vitality.

A little gem before I present my notes on this video that you may want to make note of: food is epigenetic. This means we can override a genetic predisposition to developing a disease by what we put in our bodies and also how we move and strengthen our bodies. It doesn’t matter if you come from a family of cancer sufferers or if all of your relatives have diabetes and heart disease. You can make the choice to avoid them by what you put on the end of your fork each and every time it enters your mouth!

Fitness is defined as work capacity measured across broad time and modal domains.  

Examples of blood work and body fat to measure fitness:

  1. Cholesterol HDL “good cholesterol” (If < 35 => you’ve got a problem)
  2. Triglycerides (400 => you’re sick)
  3. Bone density
  4. Muscle Mass
  5. Blood pressure
  6. Body fat
  7. A1C – average blood sugar over the last 90 days.
  • As you get fitter, A1C goes down, triglycerides go down, body fat goes down, muscle mass goes up, bone density goes up, blood pressure comes down, HDL goes up. All great indicators. In all cases of chronic disease, these measures worsen. If you have any chronic disease, you’ll have unfavourable readings for all of these. This includes most cancers.  95% of PET positive cancers are chronic disease. 
  • MEDICINE HAS NO EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR CHRONIC DISEASE
  • It is crushing the medical system. Docs are ripping their hair out. They can’t figure it out. Diet and Exercise are the only things that have a positive impact on chronic disease.

  • Two thirds of your premium goes to health insurance company profits One third goes to treatment. 86% of the one third goes to INEFFECTIVE treatment of chronic disease. 14% of the one third goes to effective treatment. 4.6% of health insurance premium is not wasted. On chronic disease is a waste.
  • We can’t change profits that health insurance companies keep. What we can do is not take part in it by being fit and eating real food. Meats, fish, veggies, nuts, seeds, fish oil. REAL FOOD. You get a pass on chronic disease. #Boom.

  • 7 of 10 people die early due to  chronic disease which is self-created.
