I’ve talked a lot about this in my online presentations and also during live talks. This is a really interesting video from TEDx which explains some weird and wonderful facts about alligator penises shrinking and how this is linked with men’s sperm counts declining. He talks about various environmental effects, such as the soy bean. The effects aren’t confined to men, these environmental oestrogens are affecting women too, including girls who are starting puberty earlier and experiencing problems with their menstrual cycles. Back to men, he finishes off with the line: “Men are being feminised, and that’s a fact.”
As far as I’m aware, this doesn’t make alligators any less dangerous. It’s not advisable to wander around Floridian lakes heckling the alligators. I know you’re tempted, but don’t do that. The same goes for otters. I know they’re not as dangerous, but those poor fells are suffering too from shrinking manhood. In fact, while I’m at it, male fish are changing sex in lakes and rivers due to all of this female hormone. Gender bending chemicals are causing male fish to grow eggs. True story. Imagine what this water is doing to you! Look out tomorrow for a post on the water supply – you may want to prepare to be shocked. I’m not sure what that will involve, but you get the idea.
As you know by now, if your’e a regular on this site, we are surrounded by the female hormone, oestrogen – it’s in our food supply, water supply (yes, really), and oestrogen mimicking compounds and chemicals are found in plastics, deodorants, shower gels, conditioners and more. GMOs have been proven to increase oestrogen levels in men as have hormones given to animals to fatten them up to produce more meat.
Check this out. It’s 18 mins long (as with every TED talk). Well worth your time to watch:
