Low Testosterone – How Do You Know If Your Levels Are Low?

I thought I’d feature this post as it occurred to me that not many people reading this may actually know whether he has low testosterone. I only found out my levels when I requested them from a Doctor, and even then I wasn’t given any feedback besides “that’s normal”. I actually had a full male blood panel done here in the US which I had to pay for but it’s well worth it. It is a fact, that men’s testosterone levels are dropping off way too fast and we’re less manly than our fathers (depending on how old you are!) – in fact testosterone levels are 22% lower than they were 2 decades ago on average. More men are resorting to surgery for man boob removal than ever before and sperm counts have as much as halved in the last half century due to the modern day environment. We have hormones in our food supply (with added hormones in meat and poultry and GMOs, pesticides, herbicides and preservatives), hormones in our water supply, oestrogen-mimicking compounds in plastics, deodorants, shower gels, cosmetics and more. This is really happening – men are being feminized. Thankfully, when you’re mindful about what you eat (which means ignoring the media, advertising, society, culture, most of your supermarket – certainly in the US), move and strengthen your body, and take your life into your own hands you can combat it and get your mojo back. No one else cares – the pharmaceutical giants and major food corporations certainly don’t. Nor does the government – I mean, they’re making a lot of money from these multi -billion dollar industries. This is why I wrote Mojo Multiplier and designed a lifestyle change program to combat it. Check out this post from WebMD about Testosterone:

What Is Testosterone and Why Does It Decline?

Testosterone is a hormone. It’s what puts hair on a man’s chest. It’s the force behind his sex drive.

During puberty, testosterone helps build a man’s muscles, deepens his voice, and boosts the size of his penis and testes. In adulthood, it keeps a man’s muscles and bones strong and maintains his interest in sex. In short, it’s what makes a man a man (at least physically).

After age 30, most men begin to experience a gradual decline in testosterone. A decrease in sex drive sometimes accompanies the drop in testosterone, leading many men to mistakenly believe that their loss of interest in sex is simply due to getting older.

“Some say it’s just a part of aging, but that’s a misconception,” says Jason Hedges, MD, PhD, a urologist at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. A gradual decline in testosterone can’t explain a near-total lack of interest in sex, for example. And for Hedges’ patients who are in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s and having erectile problems, other health problems may be a bigger issue than aging.
